Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Lead Mechanical Engineer (Rotating Equipment), based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
* Technical assurance of all mechanical engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
* Development of technical specifications for rotating equipment required for Elgin FGRS project
* Package management of rotating equipment during procurement phase
* Developing and verifying scopes of work for FEED and EPCC contractors
* Management of multidisciplinary project technical assurance body of work
* The provision of engineering support to site, other discipline Teams (HSE, I&C, Maintenance, Inspection, structural, process, piping)
* Representing project at Project Technical Reviews
* Technical review and assessment of contractor designs and proposals
* Development of technical specifications for rotating equipment required for Elgin FGRS project
* Technical package management rotating equipment during procurement and manufacture phases
* Technical review and assessment of contractor and OEM designs and proposals
* Expediting delivery of rotating equipment in conjunction with supply chain and QA/QC disciplines
* Define and support commissioning activities during execute/start-up phase
* Throughout the life of project, ensure appropriate mechanical engineering input to P&ID reviews, HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Risk Assessments, SIL assessments, Functional Safety Impact Assessments, and other technical safety assessments / audits, both during the actual assessment and during subsequent action resolution.
* Liaise with HQ and Functional Technical Authorities regarding mechanical engineering requirements, rules & specifications.
* Review comment and approve mechanical engineering and other discipline documentation in line with delegated responsibilities from the Rotating Equipment Technical Authority.
* Answering technical queries from FEED and EPCC contractor(s).
* Input to field operations deliverables and studies as required. FGRS operations, sparing, maintenance, start-up and shutdown philosophies.
* Functional TAs and Projects groups
* Technical Specialist
* 3rd Party FEED and EPCC Companies(s)
* Central North Sea Field Operations teams
* Elgin FGRS project team
* Co-venturer Project Representatives (when attending workshops and TCMs)
* Deputize for FGRS project leader as needed.
* Demonstrate personal commitment to the HSE Policy.
* Maintain awareness of and ensure compliance with all relevant Statutory and Company HSE standards.
* Actively participate in Company safety awareness and initiative schemes.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Experience in liquid ring compression technology preferred.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering
* Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
* Previous engineering experience in oil and gas process / production or refining
* Experience in all aspects of the operation of mechanical equipment for hydrocarbon processing and rotating equipment
* Extensive design house experience especially in package management
* Experience in rotating equipment design preferred
* Extensive knowledge of onshore / offshore process and production systems, and industry norms and specifications.
* Experience in flare gas recovery systems preferred.
