Job description

We currently have a vacancy for a Maintenance Assistant to be part of a hands on and fast paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have some mechanical & electrical maintenance experience or "handy work" in a similar type of position or has come from a trade background with some prior training.

There is no requirement to be fully trade qualified, however it would be advantageous.

Although direct experience is useful, this is a development role for someone looking to learn but that does have an understanding of repairs and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting tradesman undertaking Mechanical & Electrical repairs and installation works

  • Undertaking minor repair works and general maintenance activities at the request of the Engineering Supervisors.

  • Carrying out routine planned preventative maintenance inspections

  • Liaising with Engineering Team Leaders regarding plant or equipment failures

  • Completing report sheets as necessary

  • Following planned maintenance schedules

  • Using all relevant tools and equipment within safety guidelines as necessary for the completion of works.

  • Undertaking any other duties appropriate to the grade
