Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Materials Coordinator, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Participate in operational calls and meetings and support activity planning and scheduling from a material perspective
* Working in conjunction with the wider Materials and Logistics Function and the warehousing team, to control the flow of materials from initiation of demand to arrival offshore
* Act as a single point of contact for all material enquires and manage the communications between the operational team and the warehouse and logistics team ensuring that there is clarity on weekly priorities or potential changes to published plans
* Proactively monitor material availability against operational plans and support any action necessary in relation to materials that put the planned activities at risk
* Complete Maximo transactions in real time and work with the team to ensure all activity is fully auditable
* Support the Offshore Material Coordinator in order to ensure full and accurate returns can be processed upon receipt at the warehouse
* Have an appreciation for the Inventory Management and Analysis Programme and ensure all material coordination activities support the scope of work
* Support the development of catalogue items required for storage or inventory re-order using Maximo and obtain information from quotes/drawings
* Support annual stock counting plans by completing stock counts, reconciliations and all necessary investigations, compile report, seek approvals and process all supporting transactions in Maximo
* Prepare and complete Inventory disposals in Maximo and through the approvals process
* Ensure compliance to all HMRC regulations in relation to the movement of materials and ensure processes and procedures are maintained in line with the latest information
* Have an understanding of legislation associated with the storage and management of dangerous goods and ensure all activity is compliant
* Understand the requirements for the management of hazardous waste and work with appropriate contractor to ensure full compliance
* Support the continuous improvement programme which is in place for the Materials and Logistics Function by embracing change and supporting the wider organisation to do the same
* Proactively look for improvement opportunities across the function in order to drive operational efficiency and reduce cost
* Where appropriate and with the support of the Materials and Logistics Lead take the lead on improvement projects from initiation of opportunity to final implementation and roll out
* Role-models compliance with HSE policy and ensures that all activities are planned and conducted in compliance with HSE policy
* Foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders both internally at the company and externally across the wider supply chain in order to deliver the key goals and objectives of the organisation
* Be familiar with the company's Safety Policy and to take all reasonable care to ensure the health and safety of yourself and others likely to be affected by acts or omissions, as required under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974
* Refer to Oil and Gas UK Guidelines
* Participate in all safety drills, meetings, fire and safety training programmes
* Participate in all Statutory& group orientated training courses

Experience & Qualifications:
* Ability to work as part of a team as well as under own initiative
* Can develop and maintain strong working relationships across all levels of the organisation
* Excellent oral and written communication skills

* Proven understanding of material coordination and management working practices
* Ability to manage change in an operational environment
* Comfortable is a fast paced environment and can work under pressure to deliver results
* Numerate, analytical and logical
* Previous experience of Maximo
* Ability to think critically and analyse detail
* Knowledge and experience in Inventory Management
