Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Mechanical Supervisor., based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* To have sufficient understanding of process safety and major accident hazard management to be able to effectively contribute and influence business decisions impacting process safety.
* Commit to incident free operations and actively promote within their team.
* Where appropriate, person to provide input to major accident hazard management, in particular the prevention, detection, control, mitigation and response to major accidents.
* Actively support a working environment based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity.
* Participate as a member of the Maintenance Superintendent's team in delivering performance against targets .
* Build effective working relationships with other departments and shifts.
* Ensure necessary preparation for relevant scheduled activities, prioritising Assurance Routines to ensure no SCE deferrals.
* Lead,supervise on site and actively support the mechanical technicians and vendors to ensure that the maintenance work is executed in a safe, efficient and timely manner giving due regard to quality of work done.
* Ensure that the underlying causes of failures are understood and that action is taken to avoid repeat failures.
* Supervise, coach and support direct reports in a professional manner.
* Bring defects in practices, equipment and tools to the attention of relevant staff.
* Liaise with projects, vendors and OEMs so as to maintain maintenance plans and documentation.
* Maintain accurate and appropriate maintenance records and ensure that the data is entered into Maximo.
* Raise relevant work permits in a timely manner.
* Execute secondary duties as specified in the station/bill/emergency response procedures or as directed by the OIM.
* Comply with Company procedures and ensure a full and comprehensive handover detailing all relevant information in accordance with these procedures.
* Ensure that high quality standards of housekeeping and cleanliness are maintained.
* Ensure that adequate stocks of equipment and materials are maintained.
* Encourage good, open communication promoting involvement and participation and adherence to company values.
* Commit to Competence Assurance System and undertake any training and assessment required for the role.
* Responsible for scheduling and overseeing the execution of mechanical planned, corrective and safety critical work in accordance with plan so as to ensure equipment integrity and availability. This is carried out in accordance with legislative requirements, company health, safety, environmental, integrity and other relevant standards and company values.
* Decision making ability is in accordance with delegation of authority
* Responsible for the health, safety and welfare of crew, and areas of environment pertaining to their position.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Valid Abrasive wheels, Authorised Gas Tester level 1 and Flange bolting (MJI) and Integrity preferred.
* FPSO experience is highly desirable
* Has a detailed knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices applicable to offshore oil and gas assets, associated technical standards, processes and relevant legislation.
* Prior Maximo experience advantageous.
* Ability to conduct fault finding, installation, isolation and re-instatement on mechanical systems and equipment - both rotating and static.
* Vendor management experience.
* Experience in the control and use of "Safe Systems of Work" (PTW) including their procedures.
* Experience of maintenance scheduling, organising, coordinating and controlling/monitoring work
* Supervisory, written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
* Able to carry out planned mechanical maintenance in accordance with the requirements of the planned maintenance system.
* Ability to create positive relations to peers and stakeholders internally and externally.
* Ability to manage risk in an effective way
* S/NVQ Process Engineering Maintenance (Mechanical) Level 3 or equivalent.
