Great opportunity to work for a mid-sized international E&P company as a Naval & Structural Project Manager on a flagship offshore gas mega-project based in Romania.

The Naval & Structural Senior Project Manager is responsible for ensuring that the newbuild field support vessel meets all technical and operational requirements. This role demands a candidate with exceptional naval architecture and structural engineering expertise, combined with strong project management skills, commercial acumen, and extensive knowledge of maritime industry standards, shipbuilding, and contract management.

The Role:

  • Provide assurance and engineering support within the areas of naval architecture, structures, mooring, and marine systems for the FSV.
  • Approve or reject requests for deviations from technical standards and procedures and ensure these are assessed for risk and documented for action.
  • Ensure all development-wide naval architecture and structural engineering activities (i.e. falling outside of the EPC contract) are identified and performed.
  • Be familiar with current versions of applicable structural design codes, standards and design guidelines.
  • Provide detailed marine and structural specifications and inputs as part of the design of the FSV.
  • Planning naval architecture and structural engineering activities to assure integrity.
  • Defines procedures, guidelines and policies and provides input for long-term strategy.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable local and international HSSE legislation.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 15 years experience from a similar role, preferable 5-8 years of which with an oil & gas operating company.
  • Certificate in Project Management
  • Extensive experience in naval architecture such as environmental and hydrodynamic loading & hull response, station keeping, marine operation, ballast/bilge systems, stability and tanker operations.
  • Experience in hull design, hull strengthening, modification, fatigue design and engineering for offshore production units.
  • Experienced in transportation & installation, weight control management and general management principles for engineering, construction, and commissioning.
  • Track record in delivering new build vessels
  • Strong personal commitment to HSSE - Provide leadership and direction to drive the team to achieve HSSE objectives.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English.
