Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Operations Geologist, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Provision of support to G&G and DCWS during all phases of drilling and abandonment operations, supervising and supporting wellsite teams through drilling operations both in office hours and out-of-hours as needed.
* Responsible for leading the NSTA permitting process in regard to WONS and WUNS submittals, tracking and reporting compliance to Management.
* Contribution to Information Management procedures to ensure compliance with NSTA/NDR requirements.
* Preparation and presentation of subsurface drilling hazard assessments and geological programmes at pre-Spud meetings as well as facilitating both ad-hoc and routine office operations meetings.
* Assessment of fracture gradient from FITs and LOTs. Detailed analysis of the potential of encountering a severely depleted unit or layer within the reservoir, or alternatively one that has become highly pressure charged as a result of offset water injection with no direct corresponding production offtake. Providing information central to the Management of Change (MOC) process during activities.
* QC of morning geologic reports and geological well data.
* Provision of up-to-date analysis of integrated geologic data, as well as ensuring transfer of all well data to the office IS systems and maintenance of safety standards throughout, as required.
* Preparation of geohazard assessments for geological drilling and abandonment programmes
* Facilitation of regular Service Quality Review Meetings (SQM's) with service providers and contractors to drive improvement, ensure issue closeout and propagate lessons learned throughout our operations.
* Collation of offset packages for onshore and offshore use, correlations etc.
* QC and issue of well data to relevant team members, ensuring return to the contractor for final prints.
* Filing and archival of all data (electronic & paper) obtained during the drilling of a well.
* Distribution of programs, reports, and final data to the company's and Partners.
* Maintenance of the Operations Geology email inbox/account.
* Preparation of Geological end-of-well reports and composite logs.
* Champion a culture of Process Safety excellence at the company.
* Ensure that all relevant Regulations, Standards and Practices are applied within own area of responsibility.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Undergraduate degree or equivalent in geoscience.
* Master's degree or equivalent in geoscience.
