Job Title - First Team Physiotherapist - Full Time

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full time First Team Physiotherapist.
Reporting to the Manager, the role which in effect means the successful candidate is also the Head of Medical Dept, will be providing physiotherapy and care for all full-time players as well as ensuring the delivery of effective injury prevention strategies throughout all squads at the club including our Academy and Women's First Team.

Main Duties
* To work across all players at the club as directed by the Manager and provide an excellent level of care for the players
* Ensure that the performance of all players is optimised through effective timely and appropriate medical intervention
* Specifically, to provide accurate and informed diagnoses, treatments, advice and rehabilitation sessions for injured personnel
* To monitor and assess all players for their fitness and injury status to train or play
* To be involved in rehabilitation strategies for all players where appropriate and advise the conditioning staff of any individual players specific requirements
* Ensure physiotherapy cover at all first team matches and the appropriate medical cover for training sessions
* To arrange onward referrals to consultant specialists and other health professionals, where appropriate and to attend such appointments with the player, where requested.
* To undertake a weekly Academy squads' clinic
* To promote and protect the health and well-being of all players
* To undertake pre-registration medical screenings and musculoskeletal examinations in conjunction with the Club Doctor
* To ensure that the club and players are compliant with all medical and anti-doping guidelines rules and regulations of the governing bodies
* To ensure all medical supplies and equipment are fully stocked replenished and secured as required
* To collate weekly, monthly, and yearly injury audits for first team players.
* To liaise with other football club medical staff of loan players to ensure they are informed about their player(s) whilst with the club
* To communicate with the Club Doctor and other Medical Consultants and support staff thus ensuring excellent communication pathways for all eventualities
* To keep abreast of physiotherapy best practice, promoting evidence-based practice, where appropriate.


The ideal candidate will require
* Membership of a nationally recognised professional physiotherapy association or equivalent (CSP, HCPC)
* A physiotherapy degree from a nationally recognised institution with the right to work in the UK
* Current registration with one or more appropriate governing bodies with up-to-date CPD records
* Previous experience working in a sporting environment is desirable
* Must hold a valid UK driving license
* Knowledge and understanding of monitoring of the elite athlete and how to utilise and inform practice
* Competent computer skills and experience of working with online platforms
* To have an advance first aid certificate in the clinical management of pitch side medical and trauma emergencies i.e. Sports Promote course or equivalent
