Job description
We have a current opportunity for a Planning & Reporting Engineer on a contract basis. The position holder will be based in Dubai/UAE within Engineering Contractor premises with frequent mission to Basra, Iraq.
Planning Engineer Requirements are:
- Degree in Engineering or similar.
- Experience with 3D modeling software.
- Proficiency in MS Office in particular MS Excel, MS Project, and Primavera.
- Planning and project management skills.
- Strong multitasking abilities.
- Strong analytical, critical, and logical thinking skills.
- A sound understanding of safety protocols.
- Ability to focus under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Fluent in English, Excellent English Writing and Negotiation
- 15-20 years of experience in the oil industry, with significant experience in similar position working directly for an owner/operator.
As Senior Planning and Reporting Engineer you are in charge of Project overall planning activities, progress measurement with the objectives fixed to the project in terms of schedule and cost. You will analyze different schedules, progress and reporting coming from different Contractors and Vendors and propose correction and risks mitigations.
You will be also in charge, for the JV entity, by defining Key Project Indicators (KPIs) allowing to measure the efficiency of the entity and to consider improvements. You will manage the audits planning related to the project and the entity.
You will be in charge to issue related (procedures, support documents, etc.) to your domain for PCM and Project Manager approval.
You shall ensure that company policies, rules, guidelines, and procedures are enforced and shall take any action necessary to maintain the quality
of Planning & Reporting activities to the highest level.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DELIVERABLES:
- Develop and update the Project Integrated schedule including milestones, deadlines, and key dates.
- Via PRODOM, review and analysis of Contractors' schedules and all related documents (including planning and progress measurement
- procedures).
- Calculation and monitoring of the progress for each Contractor/Sub-Contractor involved in the project.
- In collaboration with the PCM and Project Manager, anticipate and identify potential Change Orders.
- Identification of potential delays, analyze and propose corrective actions to ensure compliance with the baseline schedule.
- Compile and finalize different reports for the project and JV entity.
- Participate to the affiliate and Operation planning meetings. Ensure proper integration of the Project within the Affiliate overall planning, in particular at the level of the interfaces.
- Analyzing technical drawings and providing material and cost estimates
- Review and validate the progress for each Contractor, Sub-Contractors, and Vendors (FEED, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning and Start-Up)
- Review and validate the invoices for Contractors and Vendors
OBSERVATIONS ON ACTIVITIES AND MISSIONS:
- For its area of expertise, ensure that the SOR is respected throughout all project Phases.
- Ensure that engineering documents are issued on time without delaying different CFT's.
- Ensure that proposed technical solutions are adapted and feasible in terms of planning (productivity and POB).
- Work with Contractors to mobilize sufficient resources and means to carry out the Project.
- Carry out the tasks normally assigned to the Contractor when it becomes necessary for the good of the Project.
- Ensure good communication with the other Projects and Affiliate entities. Work in close collaboration with the Operations Division in order to minimize stoppages of production facilities and minimize "Lack of Production".
