Senior Process Engineer - Gasification and Biosolids Group

Our client, a rapidly growing holistic solutions company that reduces, separates, and converts challenging wastes, is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join their innovative Gasification and Biosolids group. This team focuses on developing groundbreaking wastewater treatment technology at the intersection of water, renewable energy, and resource recovery. The successful candidate will be instrumental in the commercialization of a novel gasification technology, overseeing project development, design, and implementation.

Location: Murfreesboro, TN (suburb of Nashville)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily activities of the engineering team, managing design and process optimization.

  • Oversee the process design for gasification systems, including detailed engineering and FEED packages.

  • Collaborate with 3rd party engineering firms for design development, equipment purchase reviews, and vendor proposals.

  • Optimize process design to reduce both capital and operational costs.

  • Support business development efforts, including participation in pilot demonstrations and system commissioning.

  • Lead R&D initiatives to enhance existing processes and develop new technologies.

  • Periodic travel to project and vendor sites as required.

Requirements:

  • Chemical Engineering degree with 15+ years of experience in the wastewater, power generation, or chemical industries.

  • Proven leadership in managing engineering teams.

  • Expertise in gas-to-liquids catalytic processes (e.g., Fischer-Tropsch).

  • Experience in gasification, solids handling, hydrogen separation, or biosolids drying is advantageous.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.

  • Must be able to perform physical activities like climbing ladders, walking on outdoor surfaces, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
