Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Support compliance with PSM regulations
  • Support and help develop Line of Defense (LOD1 and LOD2) process safety assurance programs (HEMP, MoC, SCE, combustible dust)
  • Support the Site HEMP program, including SCE management
  • Support the Site Management of Change program
  • Developing training materials, using existing materials as a basis, where applicable, and guidance by others, possibly delivering the training as well, for frontline barrier management.
  • Provide support as needed to Causal Learning and Learning from Incidents
  • Provide support to ongoing efforts to develop and implement the safety management systems applicable to pneumatic conveying and product storage systems, where a combustible dust hazard exists. This could include assistance in the development of SPM policies and procedures. Attend daily production coordination meetings and liaise with the asset, and provide feedback/coordination of needs to the wider PSM organization.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Chemical Engineering is preferred but other backgrounds considered
  • 5 - 10 years of experience in refining, petrochemical or upstream industries
  • Experience in operations is preferred but strong background in Technical Safety, HEMP and HAZOP is specifically essential.
  • Experience in HEMP studies/risk assessments and the typical process safety activities required in production organization
