Orion Group are working with a global leader in life science manufacturing in North Chicago to find skilled technicians with 2-3 years prior GMP experience.

1 year contract with possibility of extension or full time hire.

1st Shift: 6:45am-3:00pm Mon-Fri

2nd Shift: 2:45pm-11:00pm Mon-Fri

3rd Shift: 10:45pm-7:00am Mon-Fri

22-26$ an hour based on shift and benefits

Job Description:

The Manufacturing Technician plays a key role overseeing the entire manufacturing process. This includes formulation, encapsulation, and packaging. Manufacturing Technicians will set up manufacturing equipment for the production line and complete any duties to ensure production targets are achieved.

One key responsibility for this role is to troubleshoot equipment and find technical and mechanical solutions with the support of on site engineers.

Specific activities include:

  • Helping setup automated equipment
  • Operating automated and semi-automated manufacturing equipment to create product.
  • Troubleshooting minor equipment and process related issues.
  • Completing production assignments for the day.
  • Cleaning work space and manufacturing equipment
  • Training peers on equipment and process once comfortable.

To be successful, you will need experience of:

  • cGMP manufacturing experience (i.e. food, chemical, petrochemical, consumer products) is essential.
  • Understanding and experience with computer systems such as POMs, SAP, and MAXIMO.
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic issues with manufacturing equipment
  • Familiarity with HMI controls, vision inspection systems, and product serialization systems. (preferred.)
  • Ability to stand up to 8-12hs per day and lift up to 25 pounds.
