Job description

Orion Group Life Sciences are currently recruiting a Project Engineer on behalf of our Multinational Biopharmaceutical client based in Sligo on an initial 12-month contract (with potential to extend).

Responsibilities

  • To coordinate and manage the design, installation and operational start-up of new systems / equipment or system upgrades.
  • To ensure that any system or equipment introduced under an assigned project are handed over to the end user. Handover should include transfer of knowledge, if necessary, training and ongoing requirements if applicable.
  • The ability to work with external suppliers / sub-contractors to acquire components, materials and or equipment that meet the requirements and user requirements. In addition, the consideration of ongoing maintenance should be considered.
  • To manage sub-contractors or service providers in the execution of support activities / testing on site in accordance with the requirements.
  • Ability to create a project plan for the implementation of new projects or system changes / upgrades.
  • To work with and coordinate cross functional teams for optimum project delivery and ensure project needs and outcome are communicated accordingly.
  • To proactively resolve project challenges and where necessary escalate any issues to ensure the correct support and resources are allocated to resolve any issues foreseen or that occur during project implementation
  • To provide Engineering support for Non-Conformance Investigations implement CAPA Actions and Change Plan Tasks as needed.
  • To ensure that Projects meet Engineering requirement as per the Standards and requirements specific to the project e.g. PED, ASME BPE.
  • To work with external vendors and suppliers and review design and handover packages /supporting documentation / test packs / protocols to ensure they meet the end need of the user, the Engineering standards and any applicable Engineering standard.
  • To complete all assigned on Compliance wire prior to completion of activity that training is needed for.

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree in Engineering or related discipline or relevant work experience

Desired

  • Good interpersonal and coordination skills

Technical/Business Knowledge

  • 5 Years experience in Project roles in the Biotech / Pharma and or Med -Device sectors
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project, Word and Excel
  • Team worker
  • Project focused
  • Proactive in delivering tasks on time and resolving any challenges
  • Good understanding of applicable engineering standards eg ISO -
  • Requirements applicable to assigned task or project.

Supervision Received

  • To operate in an environment that is largely self-managed but with supervision through Site Project Manager Leas & Engineering Manager.

Supervision Provided

  • Will be required to supervise contractors and engineers as required

EHS Responsibilities

  • Continually be conscious of your own safety and that of others, always complying with safety notices and barriers.
  • Report any EHS incidents and/or Near Misses (unsafe acts and conditions) immediately to your supervisor and always raise the event in EHS system.
  • Support a culture of EHS excellence by recognizing and submitting opportunities for EHS improvement on EHS system.
  • Attend all required EHS training and medical surveillance programs.
  • Wear PPE as required.
