Job description

Our Client is a leading global engineering company with a strong presence in Qatar. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineering Manager to join the Client team on a permanent basis. As the Project Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the execution of the engineering portion of multi-discipline engineering projects. Your role will involve coordinating and completing various engineering tasks while ensuring adherence to HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget performance goals. Additionally, you will be accountable for maintaining technical excellence across all engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive technical assurance on assigned scopes of work, ensuring compliance with corporate and client-specific procedures.
  • Manage and lead the discipline engineering teams, providing support and supervision throughout project execution.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to effectively execute and deliver contracted activities.
  • Develop and retain a motivated and competent team of engineers.
  • Undertake the role of process owner, implementing policies, standards, and procedures to enhance the engineering function.
  • Promote safety by design and actively drive process safety through the engineering team.
  • Identify and mitigate areas of risk, driving continual improvement and innovation opportunities.
  • Participate in the design, development, and inspection of technical projects when required.
  • Lead by example, upholding the company's values and behaviors while ensuring safe and ethical operations and client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or Masters in an engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer / Registered Professional Engineer is mandatory.

Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Experience in discipline engineering.
  • Experience in EPCM contracts is advantageous.
  • Strong balance of technical and management experience at a relevant level and position.
  • Broad knowledge of engineering theories, techniques, and their practical application.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence people at all organizational levels.
  • Skilled in forecasting planning for human resources and recruitment and selection processes.
  • Ability to implement standards and processes to deliver engineering excellence.
  • Good knowledge of regulatory frameworks and associated legislation.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technological advancements.
  • Expertise in engineering excellence, including conducting audits and incident investigations.
  • Proficient in project management, mediation, dispute resolution, and financial awareness.
