We have a great opportunity for an experienced QA/QC Lead on a contract basis to work with our highly skilled client's team at an exciting time of their project!

The Quality Assurance & Control Lead will be accountable for the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control which includes implementation and delivery of the Flawless Process and Events to the organization.

This key role is for an experienced individual to coordinate the overall Flawless Process. This process includes the identification of flaws, defining their risk profile, and ensuring appropriate mitigation plans are developed and implemented. To successfully deliver, the Flawless Coordinator will interface with various disciplines (mechanical, instrumentation, rotating, etc.) to ensure the flaw identification is comprehensive and that mitigation activities are defined and implemented.

In the execution of an event, the QA/QC Lead will oversees the event's Quality Management Plan and the system turnover activities.

Accountabilities can include:

  • Develop quality auditing plans for our clients Construction and Maintenance Contractors.
  • Define, maintain, and report on Quality Key Performance Indicators internally and of the Contractors.
  • Development and Implement of a Quality Management Plan for projects and Turnarounds.
  • Work with Flange management lead to ensure QA on critical flanges, and QA checks on contractors in the field.
  • Support LNGC organization; Maintenance, Turnaround, Ops, Engineering, Technology, Brownfield Projects, HSSE within their specified disciplines
  • Reports to the Turnaround block coordinators.
  • Work closely with the contractor and/or execution team

Brownfield and Turnarounds includes:

  • Review of Contractor ITP's, witness at hold points, ensuring the weld procedures are reviewed/approved for all construction and fabrication activities for both turnsounds and brownfield projects.
  • Oversee directly or indirectly the activities of contractors to ensure the performed work by the contractors meets the requirements set in drawings, specifications, and contract documents through inspection and test plans (ITP)
  • Monitor the contractor's quality control program and its associated records (e.g. inspection request packages; pressure test packages; welders, NDT Technicians, and other trades qualifications records; calibration records for tools and instruments used for inspections; progression of As-built redline drawings) throughout construction. Reports deficiencies to construction manager.
  • Audit contractors QMP

Procurement includes:

  • Support the Procurement team by interface with contract inspectors performing inspections on the vendors behalf in remote locations (valves for example).
  • Quality assurance of material receiving process, traceability and spot QC of critical material receiving Equipment Integrity
  • As the Owner's inspector coordinate turnover process/ Mechanical completions and approve turn over packages.

To be successful, skills and experience include:

  • Are legally entitled to work in Canada (i.e., by way of Canadian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work permit)
  • If required, camp accommodation (Rotation) can be provided for working on site in Kitimat.
  • 10+ years industry experience in Oil and Gas with a minimum of 5 years managing Quality Assurance, Flawless programs or system turnover
  • Preferably with an engineering degree but a diploma in mechanical or technology will be considered.
  • Experience in Turnaround and Routine Maintenance Preparation, Execution and Completions (handover).
  • Prior experience working in the capacity of a construction QA/QC coordinator on industrial projects; preference is given to chemical, hydrometallurgy, petrochemical, or heavy industrial experience.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Computer literate - Microsoft applications
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal (fluent) in English
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Previous successful stakeholder Engagements
  • Can manage evolving priorities and deliver on multiple commitments in a timely manner.
  • Can effectively pull groups together and coordinate action plans to drive resolution.
  • Competency Assurance
  • Skill in interpreting discipline relevant technical documentation.
  • Willing to work locally to site for entirety of contract and/or on rotation basis
  • Are willing to comply with LNGC's drug-free and harassment-free work environment and comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • If required, willing to undergo a pre-placement medical assessment, a background check and Pre-Site testing for alcohol and specified drugs.
