Scientist I - Cell Culture and Assay Development
Location: 100% onsite, Waukegan, IL
Length of assignment: 1 year
Max Bill rate: $33-36/hr (medical benefits available at a cost)

Orion Group is hiring a Scientist to work with our global Pharmaceutical client in Lake County, IL. This will be an exciting 1-year contract with the chance to be part of cutting-edge life-saving drug development research.
The primary functions of this position are conducting laboratory experiments and analysis in support of molecular toxicology studies.

Key responsibilities:
* The candidate must be able to multi-task and collaborate successfully across other groups within R&D to identify optimal screening assays for early detection of toxicity liabilities
* Support Preclinical Safety Toxicologists and Pathologists with key in vitro platforms for investigating molecular mechanisms of toxicity and enabling optimal selection of drug candidates.
* Develop/characterize 2D in vitro platforms, focused on toxicology.
* Conduct routine in vitro screening assays for early drug candidates.
* Produce/coordinate/present key data as needed.
* Analyze and interpret relevant molecular toxicology data in a timely manner and communicate data and interpretation to project stakeholders

Must have skills:
- Need strong cell culture experience, assay development, and hands-on experience w/ luminescence & fluorescence assays.
