Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Senior Exploration Geologist on a contract basis. The position will be based in west London.

The role is to evaluate farm-in, license round and M & A opportunities through screening and preliminary evaluation and support detailed evaluation It provides exposure to a wide variety of petroleum systems worldwide.

Emphasis on the South American margin.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the technical evaluation of new venture opportunities through basin screening and play fairway analysis to volumetric assessment and risk analysis. Expected to work as part of a multidisciplinary team working closely with geophysicists, petrophysicists and basin modellers, opportunities will be taken through preliminary assessment to detailed evaluation:
* Interpretating available geological data and integrating it with seismic interpretations to build an understanding of prospectivity at a regional basin and prospect scale.
* Utilise third party software and studies, to reduce subsurface uncertainty & risk (basin, block, prospects).
* Independently interpret well data, maps, and seismic facies to develop plays and prospects, critically analyse and verify interpretations provided by sellers.
* Evaluating open acreage, within high-graded basins, identify prospectivity leading to license applications or direct negotiation.
