Job description

Job Title: Senior HSE Advisor
Location: Aberdeen
Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

HSE Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and company policies. Regularly review and update HSE procedures and guidelines to align with industry best practices.
Risk Assessment and Management: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments for activities and develop strategies to mitigate potential hazards. Implement measures to control risks and ensure a safe working environment. Providing support for all work scopes providing engineering & design discipline support and support to all risk-related activities (includes Project scopes - design to execute); including support to Workpack Engineers in development of HIRAs
Incident Investigation: Leading investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses. Identify root causes and contributing factors and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver HSE training programs including inductions, HSE meetings, toolbox talks, and specialised training sessions. Promote awareness of HSE issues and foster a proactive safety culture.
Emergency Preparedness: Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures. Conducting and participating in company drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response protocols.
HSE Reporting: Prepare regular HSE performance reports, including leading and lagging indicators, for management review. Identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities for proactive intervention.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project managers, clients, subcontractors to address HSE concerns and requirements. Serve as a liaison for HSE matters and represent the client in meetings and discussions. Facilitate proactive HSE engagement and communication between onshore and offshore teams across asset HSE Construction Calls
Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of HSE processes and systems. Monitor industry developments and emerging trends to incorporate relevant innovations into HSE practices.
HSE Assurance: Conduct Project based auditing as required or defined in the Project Assurance Plan. Support the Project QA Manager in the development and implementation of Project Assurance plans and objectives
Team Support: Collaborate with the client HSE team to build relationships and share best practices across business and projects. Monitor and evaluate project HSEA activities (e.g., improvement plans, incident trends, best practice development etc.)

Qualifications:
Qualifications and Experience:

Relevant education in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field such as NEBOSH.
Experience as HSE professional in a similar role, preferably in the oil and gas or construction industry.
Proven track record of successfully implementing HSE programs and initiatives.
Strong knowledge of relevant HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSE management software
Offshore certification - BOSIET, MIST, Medical
