Job description
We have a current opportunity for a Senior Installation Methods Engineer on a contract basis. The position will be based in Westhill with a leading EPC Company within the energy industry.
Your role will involve working in a diverse team of installation engineers, coordinating various methods of pipeline reel lay installation for work assignments on global projects either in progress or in the process of tendering. You will support the efficient day-to-day running of the installation engineering team and provide regular operational reports on general project engineering activities, technical subject matters, and resource management.
This will be a varied role but some of the main responsibilities will be:
Supporting a team of method engineers to follow project scope(s) from early engagement with our internal and external clients through to offshore execution on board our reel lay assets.
You'll be a be a technical reference for pipeline installation and contribute to the sub-contractors selection.
Produce installation method statements and procedures, support procurement activities and subcontract follow up, proactively support HSEQ activities and prepare and deliver technical presentations.
Installation rigging calculations and rigging design.
Assist Tendering department with feasibility studies, method statements, manhour estimates, schedule inputs and costing support.
Supporting installation aid procurement, fabrication and testing follow up.
Follow your scope offshore on our installation vessels.
What experience would we like you to have?

Degree qualified in Engineering/Marine/Naval/Offshore Technology / Civil / Mechanical or equivalent
Extensive experience as a project engineer, the majority of this from within the offshore energy industry.
Experience, or an understanding of, offshore pipeline installation methods, ideally within the reel lay discipline (i.e., Reel Lay, J-Lay, S-Lay)
Experience of guiding and leading teams of engineers in project scopes
You should be a clear communicator, able to speak with all levels within the business, who is comfortable working on their own and as part of a team
