Job Title: Senior Principal Piping Designer
Location: Houston, TX
Type: Contract
Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Piping Designer to join our team in Houston, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical direction to piping design projects. Your primary focus will be on overseeing project progress and ensuring the quality of deliverables from a team of piping designers. While this position does not involve administrative duties such as hiring or salary decisions, it does involve conducting performance evaluations of team members.
Responsibilities:
- Plan project scope, design basis, effort hour budget, staffing requirements, deliverables, and execution procedures.
- Ensure adherence to company, department, and project procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in Plot Plan and Equipment Arrangement activities.
- Assign piping team personnel to designated design responsibilities.
- Estimate quantities and monitor trends.
- Participate in design reviews and monitor progress for all piping design activities, reporting results to Project and Department Management.
- Produce or assist less experienced designers in producing Piping Design deliverables using 3D CAD modeling software and extraction of 2D deliverables from the model.
- Ensure timely deliverable verification and issuance according to schedule.
- Lead weekly project discipline team meetings and conduct piping design team meetings.
- Ensure compliance with Worley safety guidelines and project-specific safety training for all team members.
- Proficiency in S3D, E3D, Cadworx, with experience in Optiplant being a plus. Proficiency in Navisworks, Smart Plant Review, and LFM is required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience, or 6 to 8 years of experience with a High School or Associate Graduate, or a BS degree.
