Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Process Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Describe the responsibilities, impact, outcomes. Describe attributes in the context of how / why they are used. As appropriate please include HSE/IFW statements.
* General
* Provide day to day support for process engineering within the asset, meeting the operational demands of the asset as set by the operation manager.
* Provide discipline expertise for troubleshooting operational issues identifying root cause and improvements to prevent future occurrence.
* Identify and implement solutions for immediate repairs, ensuring adherence to standards and engineering processes.
* Be the competent engineer for discipline in the planning and execute process. Specifically, defining discipline details to the 30 and 90-day asset plan; and then delivering any engineering aspects of that plan
* Identification and management of specialist vendors and, where necessary, mobilising those specialist vendors to support relevant process engineering discipline scopes.
* Be the gateway for maintenance and operations technical queries relating to process engineering discipline.
* Define and write the problem statement for modifications.
* Assure that any plant management of change within the asset is delivered within the gated MoC process (CEU-ENG-GEN-STA-0026)
* Responsible for process optimisation
* Ensure relevant performance standards are adhered to via the Inspection, Test and Maintenance programme.
* Provide process engineering expertise for asset risk assessment processes including deferral, operational risk assessment (ORA), and permit to work.
* Execute any engineering delegation of authority assigned under the Engineering Delegation of Authority Standard, CEU-ENG-GEN-STA-0056
* Own specific discipline shutdown scopes through definition, planning and execution.
* Deliver any assigned scopes within agreed budget.
* Develop and manage relationships with the operations and maintenance teams as well as core contractors. Regular visit to offshore assets.
* Responsibility for maintaining as-built process models and asset-critical process documentation.
* Responsibility for asset Mass Balances and key equipment capacity details.
* Responsibility for the integrity of the SECE barriers owned by Process discipline (overpressure protection, depressurisation, blanket and purge gas & hazardous open drains systems).
* Responsibility for key process documents, such as PFD's and P&ID's, and support to other discipline key documents such as C&E's, etc
* Ownership of AMS and MyHSES process study actions with focus on review and close out of the actions.
* Participate in asset HAZOP, PHR, LOPA and risk assessments, including active participation in the management of change (MoC) process.
* Lead investigations into production shortfalls vs target including the organisation and facilitation of root cause analysis sessions, incorporating various disciplines.
* Provide process engineering input & first-level process engineering assurance to other discipline scopes - brownfield, maintenance & capital.

Experience & Qualifications:

* Active participation in reviews and in particular risk and hazard assessment activities with the ability to resolve problems in a range of contexts from conceptual design to operational facilities.
* Good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to use HYSYS, and Microsoft office tools effectively.
* Use of PI data historian for trend analysis and production optimisation
* Planning and organization for successful execution of multiple workstreams concurrently.
* SAP experience, particularly SAP PM
* ability to interact effectively at all levels and positively influence teams across core operations crew and subcontractors.
* Maintain and continue to develop the competencies necessary to carry out the role to the required standard whilst in position.
* Conducts all activities in a safe and effective manner and raises safety and environmental issues immediately and in line with corporate policy.
* Describe level of education required to carry out the role competently and effectively.
* Process (or Chemical) Engineering degree required.
* Chartered Engineer
* Describe depth/breadth of experience required to carry out the role competently and effectively.
* Experience of providing process engineering support to front-line operation of a major offshore production facility
* Significant and extensive knowledge of Process and Major Accident Hazard (MAH) prevention technical practices and legislation, which would be underpinned by technical achievements in process engineering discipline in the energy or chemical industry.
* Demonstrable experience of operations within complex Oil/Gas, Petrochemical, or Chemical plant
* Knowledge of all forms of engineering documentation, including block diagrams, PFDs, P&IDs Data Sheets, Cause & Effect charts, and safety critical elements
* Deep and extensive knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and applicable regulations both statutory and company specific
* Experience of successfully closing out actions generated in HAZOP, LOPA, PHR sessions.
* Provide details of any regulatory requirements the role-holder must satisfy.
* Specify Competence Assurance where appropriate.
* BOSIET, MIST and OFFSHORE MEDICAL
* All company's mandatory training as requested, including Compliance training usually provided annually.
