Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Project Planner, based in Aberdeen. This in a great opportunity to be part of the integrated Projects Controls team in a senior role. Candidates should be aligned with the clients values, work well in a team and be enthusiastic and energetic about the work that they undertake.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Lead Project Planner across the Company's Project and Decommissioning portfolio.
  • Utilise planning tools to generate and maintain integrated project schedules and plans (Primavera P6 and other scheduling software).
  • Accurately develop and maintain plan structures, demonstrating discipline and effective use of WBS & Activity codes.
  • Generate and issue a variety of weekly and monthly planning reports such as Gantt charts, s-curves, resource histograms and project dashboards.
  • Demonstrate and communicate detailed understanding of project management principles and techniques.
  • Reflect understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analysis/trending and what-if scenarios.
  • Work effectively with other disciplines within integrated project controls team, with sufficient understanding of cost and risks to run Change Control & Risk Analysis(CSRA Process).
  • Provide accurate planning information to the Project Manager(s) and Lead Engineer(s) to allow for work prioritisation, scheduling, reporting, and resourcing.
  • Interfacing with Contractor and Company asset planners to ensure Project scope alignment and integration across planning portfolio (Corporate, Projects, Assets, TARs).

Requirements

  • Experience in Major Capital Projects from early concept phase through to decommissioning is essential
  • Prior experience performing in a Senior Planner role is preferred
  • Robust working knowledge of Primavera P6, MS Project and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in handling multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Use of initiative and experience to adopt a proactive approach to problem solving
  • Commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to guide, develop appraise and mentor others
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
