Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Reservoir Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
* Generate production forecasts and undertake reserves reporting across a range of operated and non-operated assets.
* Monitor reservoir performance on existing fields and work with Asset / Production teams to optimize production and maximize recovery from late life fields.
* Assess subsurface infill well and intervention opportunities and work with multi-discipline project team to mature towards an investment decision.
* Develop / maintain subsurface models and undertake reservoir simulation studies
* Manage, maintain and interpret key subsurface data sets.
* Project management of outsourced subsurface studies.
* Reservoir engineering input into new business opportunity evaluations, including energy transition activities / carbon storage.
* Provide planning and operational support for well drilling and testing activities.
* Prepare and present subsurface material internally and to regulators and joint venture partners.
* Work closely within an integrated Subsurface team, and communicate effectively with Asset, Production, Finance, Wells and other appropriate business areas.
* Share knowledge within the organization and bring new ideas through wider industry network.
* Follow and support safety and environmental policies, guidelines, procedures, and an incident free workplace.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Strong understanding of fluid dynamic behaviour and reservoir drive mechanisms.
* User of dynamic modelling packages, preferably Petrel-RE, Eclipse, or PETEX suite, but other simulators acceptable.
* Experience in drilling and well operations.
* Good awareness of legislation, licensing, and fiscal issues relevant to the oil and gas industry.
* Good commercial awareness with an understanding of project financing and cost control.
* Proven ability to undertake complex tasks requiring the application of well-developed technical skills and knowledge with limited supervision.
* Track record of subsurface creativity, identifying growth opportunities and value adding activities

* Excellent communicator with the ability to manage various stakeholders and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
* Educated to degree level, ideally with an MSc in a relevant discipline.
* Demonstrable experience in production forecasting and reserves reporting, including consolidation of multiple assets through integrated production networks
* Broad subsurface knowledge of the UKCS, ideally with previous experience of SNS tight gas developments.
* Experience of working in an E&P operator and as part of joint venture groups.
* Experience of working within a challenging and diverse asset management environment.
* Any experience in Carbon Storage would be beneficial
