Job Title: Service Operator (Well Logging)
Location: New Iberia, LA
Job Type: Full-time, Perm
Description:
Under general supervision, the Well Logging Service Operator operates surface and downhole well logging equipment and pressure control equipment on work locations to record information about sub-surface geologic formations. They serve as a service expert for a particular well logging service, typically operating as a one-person crew. The operator obtains relevant service work information from the customer and utilizes it effectively to perform specific well logging operations. Additionally, they perform pre-job calculations, rig-up and rig-down of equipment, including electric, nuclear, sonic, and other well logging tools, as well as pressure control equipment.
Overall, must have experience in wireline or electric line.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate surface and downhole well logging equipment and pressure control equipment.
* Obtain and utilize pertinent service work information from customers.
* Perform pre-job calculations and equipment rig-up/rig-down.
* Assemble and operate surface and downhole well logging equipment at the job site.
* Maintain and perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
* Identify potential sales opportunities and communicate them to appropriate staff.
* Communicate pre-job and on-the-job progress to customers.
* Address and resolve issues concerning service irregularities with customers.
* Conduct pre and post-job vehicle and equipment inspections and associated paperwork.
* Provide guidance and training to less experienced staff.
* Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality improvement processes.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent education.
* Minimum 1 year of experience as a Service Operator-L&P, II.
* Licensure to drive commercial equipment may be required in certain locations.
* Successful completion of Well Control Accreditation Program (optional).
* Successful completion of water survival training may be required.
* Effective communication skills.
* Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
* Basic reading comprehension and writing skills.
* Basic computer skills.
* Knowledgeable on HMS standards and guidelines for PSL personnel.
Additional Information:
Given the nature of oil field service work, the ability to communicate effectively with others is necessary. The ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required. Basic reading comprehension and writing skills are required. Basic computer skills are required. Must be knowledgeable on HMS standards and guidelines for PSL personnel. Promotes safety awareness and environmental consciousness and complies with all applicable safety and environmental procedures and regulations. Ensures compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and guidelines. Promotes and takes an active part in quality improvement processes.
