Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of SHE Advisor- Subsea & Marine, based in Aberdeen. Full Rights to work in UK required.

Responsibilities:
* Supporting the Leadership, Project Management and Contractors in the alignment and application of SHE
expectations and objectives through the use of appropriate SHE Key Performance Indicators
* Assisting and supporting the application(s) for environmental permits, consents and other authorisations
* Attending HIRAs or facilitating other Operational/Project Risk Assessment sessions
* Assist with the preparation, co-ordination and delivery of SHE Plans and verifying implementation and
completion of said plans through the monitoring and reporting of the Contractor's SHE performance.
* Supporting Project Management in ensuring the adequacy and implementation of the requirements of the SHE management systems by reviewing and providing input to Project Safety Management Interface and Bridging Documents
* Reviewing and providing feedback and advice to Project and Subsea teams on the quality of undesirable event reports, incident investigation report outcomes, etc. (Including confirming classification and determining
RIDDOR equivalent status of incidents, and where appropriate, tracking and updating cases in Synergi to
ensure appropriate level of verification of action close outs.)
* Providing expert advice and support in through leading or participation in offshore investigations of Serious, High Potential or Major incidents
* The provision of SHE input to the selection and management of Contractors (Suppliers) including but not limited to identification of SHE contract risks, tender evaluation, Contractor audits, SHE performance reviews and contract close out and lessons learned
* Conducting SHE Inspections, Audits and support visits to operational sites, providing focussed support, awareness raising, audits and gap analyses, Safe System of Work reviews, etc.
* Providing specialist ER support and participation in planning, coordinating, maintaining, and updating the company's Emergency Response Plans including both internal and external event responses
* Acting as focal point, representing the company and providing specialist advice on specific topics and agreed with Line Manager.



Experience & Qualifications:
* Formal Health and Safety Qualification.
* Member of IOS H or another appropriate professional Organisation
* Experience of Incident Tracking databases and incident investigation skills
* Background in Health & Safety support to offshore Oil & Gas industry (Operators, service companies and consultancies)
* Capable of establishing SHE objectives that realistically reflect potential capability.
* A broad knowledge of the principle health, safety and environmental legislative requirements
* Good understanding of SHE management systems, safety observation schemes and behavioural modification systems.
* Able to manage and record SHE deliverables with a high level of accuracy
* Proven ability to communicate well with operational and supervisory personnel.
