We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Superintendent on a contract basis located in Central Alberta!

Our client, a prestigious construction management group with over 50 years of industry experience, is seeking a seasoned Site Superintendent to oversee a critical Oil & Gas project. This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team within a well-established organization.

Position Overview: The Site Superintendent will play a key role in ensuring the successful execution of the project, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be an experienced leader with a proven track record in site management, particularly in the Oil & Gas sector. An attractive contract/remuneration is on offer to the successful incumbent.

Key Responsibilities incude:

  • Ensure the project adheres to approved plans and specifications.
  • Arrange and oversee soil and concrete testing, reporting any irregularities to the Project/Field Manager.
  • Prepare and manage field change orders as required.
  • Review and maintain the construction schedule to ensure timely project completion.
  • Submit detailed hourly timecards for job costing.
  • Maintain a comprehensive daily log of project activities.
  • Ensure site safety measures align with corporate Health and Safety standards and other regulatory requirements.
  • Foster a culture of safety with a focus on achieving zero incidents.
  • Implement supervision and worker responsibilities as outlined in the PMCL Health and Safety Manual.
  • Utilize strong management skills to lead the team effectively and ensure successful project execution.
  • Mentor and lead the team with integrity and strong work ethics.

Key Skills also preferred include:

  • Proficiency with wood forming systems (e.g., Camlock and ties, Leg Stud and Whalers).
  • Experience in designing and installing anchor bolt templates for various foundations.
  • Skilled in setting elevations and grades using laser levels, builder's levels, and transits.
  • Ability to read and interpret industrial/construction blueprints.
  • Proven communication skills with clients, subtrades, and inspectors.
  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Knowledge of safety certifications (LSE, H2S, FA, CSTS 2020).

To be successful, you'll need to include the following experience:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience as a Site Superintendent, preferably in the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Experience managing small to midsize projects.
  • Journeyman certification is an asset.
  • Proven leadership experience with a successful track record.
  • Must be able to work on the tools and demonstrate hands-on capability.
  • Ability to work shifts 10/4 (TBD) and 10hr days and Saturday/Sundays.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass a drug and alcohol test.
  • Legally permitted to work in Canada; local candidates from Alberta would be preferred
