Job description

Our client has a current opportunity for a Technical Engineering Manager to join their team on a full-time, permanent basis. Location can be flexible within Scotland.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director, The Technical Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing all engineering projects from concept to completion, providing a practical and cost effective technical service encompassing site evaluation, engineering design, the investigation of technical problems encountered and provision of economical and viable solutions.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on engineering projects related to fuel tank installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure projects requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new tank installations or upgrades, considering factors such as site suitability, environmental regulations, and safety requirements.
  • Develop project plans, schedules and budgets, and oversea project execution to ensure timely completion and within budget constraints.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Provide technical support to operational teams and assist with troubleshooting and resolve technical issues related to tank operations.
  • Prepare project reports, documentation and presentations for stakeholders, providing updates on project status, milestones achieved, and lessons learned.

Skills and experience

  • Engineering degree
  • Proven experience in technical engineering management.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering including mechanical, electrical and civil engineering concepts.
  • Experience in project management including project planning, budgeting and scheduling.
  • Experience of liaising/co-ordinating external professionals together with Permit to Work Systems.
  • Strong Health & Safety awareness.

The Technical Engineering Manager will be required to undertake site visits, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential. Company vehicle or car allowance is included.
