Job description

We have a current opportunity for a Treasury Manager with an energy business. The position will be based in their City of London offices on a contract basis.

Type: Full-time, PAYE Contract, Immediate Start
Experience Level: Mid-Senior

As the company continues to grow, they are seeking an experienced Treasury Manager to join their dynamic team and support corporate finance functions.

Role Overview:
This is a fantastic opportunity for a professional with a pure treasury background to take on a managerial role within the treasury function. The successful candidate will report directly to the Deputy Head of Corporate Finance and manage a small team. You will primarily focus on reviewing reports and fostering internal relationships, rather than facing external banks or financial institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a Treasury Team: Lead, mentor, and develop the treasury team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Review and approve internal treasury reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Internal Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with various departments, including corporate finance, risk management, and operations, to streamline treasury functions.
  • Treasury Operations: Oversee daily cash management, liquidity planning, and ensure adequate funding for operational needs.
  • Policy Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and controls, aligning with the company's financial goals.
  • Strategic Input: Provide insights on the company's treasury strategy, working closely with senior management to support long-term financial objectives.

Key Requirements:

  • Treasury Expertise: A solid background in pure treasury management, with experience in cash management, forecasting, and internal controls.
  • Team Leadership: Previous experience managing or mentoring a team, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in reviewing reports, financial analysis, and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Relationship Management: Strong internal stakeholder management experience, with a focus on cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Problem Solver: Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex treasury-related issues efficiently.
  • Financial Systems Knowledge: Familiarity with treasury management systems (TMS) and ERP systems would be advantageous.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • ACT (Association of Corporate Treasurers) or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in treasury, with some management responsibilities.
