Job Title: Data and Information Management Team Lead
Business/Department: Finance, IT and Supply Chain
Reporting To: Information Technology Manager
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data and Information Management Team Lead to join a major Oil and Gas industry client.
As the Team Lead, you will be responsible for leading the Data and Information Management team and providing strategic direction on Information Management (IM) within the company. Your role will involve establishing the information governance framework, managing information risks, and overseeing the complete lifecycle of company information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver a customer-focused Information Management (IM) service that meets business expectations and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Implement the process of Continual Service Improvement.
- Collaborate with Business heads and Document and Records Management (DRM) Coordinators to coordinate implementation, share best practices, and support compliance with IM policies and practices.
- Contribute to the IM and Information Technology (IT) strategy to ensure alignment with the business.
- Conduct quarterly service review meetings with all data owners.
- Perform data cleansing and maintenance.
- Ensure the protection of vital records, the security of confidential information, and compliance with legal, evidential, and accountability requirements.
- Oversee the preparation and destruction of corporate records in accordance with relevant State Records Disposal Schedules and Standards.
- Promote awareness of Information Management best practices through communication and training.
- Develop and implement a strategy for Information Management audits against IM best practices.
- Provide day-to-day oversight of the data management team's execution and performance.
- Create and enforce policies for effective data management.
- Formulate management techniques for quality data collection, ensuring adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
- Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data management and analysis.
- Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with upper management and external stakeholders.
- Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to legal and company standards.
- Monitor and analyze information and data systems' performance and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Ensure the protection of digital databases and archives from security breaches and data losses.
- Troubleshoot data-related problems and authorize maintenance or modifications.
Requirements:
- Degree in Information Management/Data Management/Information Security or a related field.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification preferred.
- Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT) certification preferred.
- Prior experience working within an IT or Data Management environment.
- Experience facilitating and consulting with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of data administration and management functions.
- Proficiency in data management scope and objectives.
- Analytical skills to identify trends and design data management strategies.
- Experience with Data Dictionaries and Metadata management.
- Execution and driving of Data Quality programs.
- Previous business knowledge of technical engineering, manufacturing, or oilfield operations preferred.
- Effective leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a matrix organization.
- Business acumen and ability to handle risks and opportunities.
- Experience in vendor management and oversight.
- Solid understanding of data management systems, database concepts, and file structures.
