Job Title: Turnaround Planner
Location: Flexible (California, Texas, and Louisiana candidates will be considered)
Travel Requirement: Up to 40% annually
Work Schedule:
  • Planning Phase: Monday to Friday, 5/8s
  • Turnaround Execution Phase: 7/12s for 30–35 days

Position SummaryThe Turnaround Planner is responsible for developing and coordinating maintenance and repair plans for plant turnarounds to ensure minimal downtime and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Turnaround Planning and Execution:
    • Develop and coordinate detailed turnaround plans.
    • Schedule and monitor maintenance and repair activities.
    • Create detailed planning activities in Primavera P6 (P6) for each work order, including individual tasks, manpower requirements, durations, and assigned disciplines.
    • Provide daily schedule updates during outage execution.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure alignment on turnaround goals.
    • Maintain open communication with craftspeople, contractor representatives, and material suppliers.
  • Documentation and Standards Compliance:
    • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and job planning packages per Air Products guidelines, including pictures, P&IDs, BOMs, tools, safe work procedures, applicable standards, QC requirements, etc.
    • Support the Management of Change (MOC) process by recognizing plant changes and completing all related documentation promptly.
    • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Material and Risk Management:
    • Organize and expedite materials procurement, quoting prices, and ensuring availability of correct parts for jobs.
    • Lead assigned portions of outage scope through the planning and execution stages.
    • Provide leadership in risk management, contractor safety, and safety issue mitigation.

Essential Functions
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and planning skills.
  • Leadership capabilities with a focus on safety and quality.
  • Working knowledge of product development, manufacturing, electrical, and instrumentation workflows.
  • Physical ability for tasks such as bending, climbing, crawling, lifting, and shift work as required.
  • Familiarity with quality standards set by Air Products and Chemicals, Inc.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years in maintenance or engineering disciplines, preferably in industrial outages.
    • 3+ years of experience in electrical package planning.
    • Electrical journey-level maintenance experience, including LV & HV Motors, heaters, power distribution equipment, and preventative maintenance.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical and instrumentation drawings and P&IDs.
    • Experienced in preparing and reviewing test/work packages for field issuance.
    • Proficiency in business software: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook), SAP, Primavera P6, and Adobe.

  • Strong dedication to promoting safety, maintaining housekeeping standards, and completing close-out documentation in accordance with Air Products standards.
