Job description
We are seeking a Finance Advisor for our Operator client based in Aberdeen. This is an immediate start 7 month contract working a 3/2 hybrid model, based in the Aberdeen City area.
Experience Required:
• Degree and qualified accountant of recognised body ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent with appropriate industry experience
• Proven experience of management reporting and modelling within upstream oil and gas industry
• Strong analytical skills
• Experience of SAP / SunSystems preferred.
• Strong MS Office skills
Purpose of Role:
• Provide a comprehensive and effective finance service to designated business areas as required.
• Provide oversight to deliver key driver and trend analysis, updates and administer detailed budgets/forecasts to incumbent budget holder(s).
• Focal interface between business stakeholders and Finance function, adding value through provision of insight and ensuring accurate information and budgeting activities are in accordance with company policies, procedures and contractual agreements.
Areas of Accountability, Responsibility and Competence:
Delivery of accurate and timely cost reporting
• Responsible for co-ordinating all financial resources required to meet designated business area reporting requirements, acting as ultimate focal point for the business area management
• Drive monthly cost reviews
• Provide ad-hoc cost analysis and management presentations as appropriate
• Manage interaction with JV Partners/ Operators as required on monthly financials/AFE’s and outlook updates
• Interface with group finance to ensure consistent application of companies accounting policy
• Support AFE project review and support stage gate sign offs
Delivery of accurate and timely information in support of planning
• Ensure effective framework in place for detailed budget/forecast information and phasing for budget holder review/approval for monthly outlooks, budget and Life-of-Field planning
• Provide high quality variance analysis as required
• Provide enhancements to the process including but not limited to predictive analytics and automation
• Support the preparation/ review of JV Partner/Operator information including JV partner budget packs and other information requested from co-venturers in compliance with the provisions of our JV agreements
• Support consolidation/ reporting of forecasting activities from other functions including but not limited to UK Projects and Well Operations.
Provision of accurate information to support the JV close & partners
• Provide support and follow up on JV partner audits through liaison with audit co ordinator
• Review and issue JV reports including reforecasts
• Develop OCM presentations and lead/ Attend FinCOM meetings as required
• Focal point for all benchmarking/ regulatory reporting required for business area
