Operations Technology Architect
Contract through end of 2025, with potential to extend
$90/HR

Orion Group is hiring an Operations Technology Architect for our Life Science Client located in Shrewsbury, MA.
This role requires a highly skilled and experienced individual to lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of OT (Operational Technology) systems within a industrial controls environment. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable leader within all aspects of the OT environment, including operating systems, cybersecurity, networking, and SCADA. This role will serve as the technical lead for system administration activities, driving the long-term OT strategies within product lines and ensuring the secure and reliable operation of our clients bioprocess systems
Operations Technology Architect Responsibilities:
Product OT Leadership:
o Provide direction on OT requirements and processes to Engineering teams.
o Ensure product security risks are promptly identified, logged, and evaluated.
o Promote best practices and design patterns.
o Conduct cyber vulnerability assessments.
o Develop project and product documentation related to cybersecurity.
o Prepare project technical reports, project progress reports, and conduct technical presentations.
OT Systems Development & Maintenance:
o Oversee the design of OT systems, ensuring they meet customer needs from a system administration, networking, and security perspective.
o Collaborate with our internal cybersecurity team to implement robust security measures aligned with industry standards.
o Work with manufacturing teams to standardize deployment processes and explore automation opportunities.
o Maintain OT tools to improve product maintainability and security.
o Develop an enhanced working knowledge of OT principles and elements.
Successfully assisted with onsite implementations of OT solutions.
Cybersecurity:
o Provide advanced support on all aspects of OT Security, including Hardware, Software, Active Directory, Auditing, Logging, and Monitoring.
o Support field engineers troubleshooting OT-related issues, including system administration and networking issues.
o Manage and maintain a private network used during product development.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Engage with a variety of teams, from product development to manufacturing, to drive successful project outcomes.
o Work across multiple multinational cross-functional project teams, focusing on product OT.
o Provide quotation support when custom activities pertain to OT changes from the standard product.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or in a STEM major (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 7-10 years of experience.
Technical Skills:
o Experience with directory services (Active Directory, LDAP), network switches, firewalls, anti-malware products, and vulnerability scanners.
o Experience working in an industrial manufacturing OT environment.
o Experience with industry cybersecurity standards (IEC 62433, ISA 99, NIST 800-53, etc.) implementation and governance.
o Experience with industrial networks with virtually and physically hosted applications.
o Experience working with hypervisors, including VMWare and Hyper-V.
Other Skills:
o Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to balance multiple projects and priorities.
o Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.
o Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and verbal and written communications skills.
o Experience working on global project teams as an individual contributor.
o Knowledge of application risk identification and evaluation techniques.
o Demonstrated understanding of software systems and development concepts, including access, authorization, configuration, design, test, and maintenance.
