Valve Maintenance Specialist - Algeria
Are you passionate about ensuring the smooth operation of complex valve systems? If so, this opportunity to join our team as a Maintenance Valves Specialist might be the perfect fit for you!
As the single point of contact for all valve and pressure relief valve maintenance and reliability within the Gas Process Facilities, you'll play a critical role in safeguarding operations.
You'll be responsible for overseeing inspections, repairs, calibration, and the overall maintenance program, ensuring compliance, high reliability, and adherence to strict HSE regulations.
Here's what you'll be doing:
Lead the charge: Provide oversight for all valve-related activities, including inspections, repairs, maintenance, and calibration.
Be the master of maintenance: Ensure the valve maintenance program adheres to best practices, with high-quality preparation, execution, and reporting.
Diagnose and solve: Identify and address breakdowns or anomalies in valves, ensuring smooth operation.
Get hands-on: Perform valve maintenance tasks, order replacements, and document everything meticulously.
Be a team player: Collaborate with the valve team and contractors to execute the maintenance program safely and efficiently.
Become a valve guru: Research and document information about valves and their appurtenances, staying ahead of the curve.
Manage contracts like a pro: Close vendor contracts, develop purchase orders for special parts and services, and manage vendor relationships.
Safety first, always: Ensure all activities comply with stringent HSE rules and regulations.
Develop the team: Champion HSE and competency development plans for the valve team.
Investigate and learn: Lead or participate in investigations of accidents, incidents, and production upsets to identify root causes and prevent future occurrences.
Be a safety champion: Contribute to risk assessments, pre-startup safety reviews, audits, and other technical safety functions.
To excel in this role, you'll need:
A solid foundation: A university degree in a relevant technical discipline.
Proven experience: At least 7 years of experience as a valve maintenance specialist in the oil and gas industry.
Supply chain savvy: An understanding of supply chain methods and processes.
The valve whisperer: Experience in valve fabrication and installation is a plus.
Communication is key: Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
Tech-savvy: Confidence in using computer programs like MS Office and CMMS.
A keen eye for detail: You have a quality-focused mindset and can identify potential problems before they arise.
Problem-solving prowess: You can analyse situations, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions.
