Job description
Orion Group Life Sciences are looking for a Senior (Equipment) Engineer for our Multinational Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology client based in Breda. Initial 12-month contract, with high possibility of extension. This is a hybrid position.
Main Responsibilities of the role
- General:
- Provides solutions to a variety of highly complex technical problems of moderate scope.
- Under general guidance evaluate, select, and/or modify standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
- Interpret and execute policies and procedures.
- Project Management:
- Perform assignments that have loosely defined objectives that require investigation of a large number of variables.
- Coordinate limited portions of the work of vendors, consultants and engineering firms on development of design documents.
- Design Engineering:
- Execute tasks under general direction of project managers or Sr Engineer to complete design, engineering and construction projects within schedule and budget constraints.
- Draw up equipment specifications based on material, compliance and system owner requirements.
- Coordinate the detailed engineering and approval of design documentation.
- Prepare and execute characterization challenges through experiments in which parameters are intentionally varied to determine their effect on the area effectiveness and performance.
- Support the test phase at equipment vendor and on-site together with the engineering team.
- Operations Engineering Day-to-day:
- Function as a technical expert regarding troubleshooting operations. Occasionally become actively involved in daily operations when required to meet schedules or to resolve complex problems.
- Support efforts with maintenance, production, packaging and equipment engineering, QA and/or validation departments for system modifications.
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering, science or related technological field of equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically, 6+ years of relevant work experience with 4+ years in operations / manufacturing environment.
- Experience in working with different departments and groups in the organization.
- Familiarity with validation processes and protocols
- Comprehensive knowledge of technical requirements of work supervised.
- Established disciplinary knowledge within own specialty area.
- Direct experience with regulated environment (e.g. GMP, OSHA, EPA).
- Occasionally work outside office hours.
- Fluency in English, both in oral and written communication.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of (personal) computer software, specifically: MS office.
- Experience in working with different departments and groups in the organization.
- Familiarity with validation processes and protocols.
