Job description

Our client, an independent operator is currently recruiting for the position of Topsides Manager. This will be for a long-term contract role based in Aberdeen supporting multiple projects. This will be available on a limited company or PAYE basis.

Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
* Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
* Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective project execution.
* Implement project management best practices to achieve project goals efficiently.

Risk Management:
* Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
* Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
* Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Budget and Cost Control:
* Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial objectives are met.
* Monitor project expenditures and implement cost-control measures.
* Provide regular financial reports to stakeholders.

Stakeholder Communication:
* Establish and maintain effective communication channels with project stakeholders including host management, engineering contractors, suppliers, offshore operations and government bodies.
* Provide regular project updates to internal and external stakeholders.
* Address concerns and issues in a timely and transparent manner.

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
* Ensure all projects comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
* Implement and monitor safety protocols to minimize workplace incidents.
* Foster a culture of safety among project teams.

Quality Assurance:
* Implement quality control processes to meet industry standards.
* Establish regular inspections and audits to ensure project deliverables meet quality requirements.

Team Leadership:
* Provide leadership and direction to project teams.
* Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
* Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
* Attend Emergency Response training and be and active a member of the AHUKL Emergency Response Team.

Procurement and Vendor Management:
* Oversee procurement activities, including vendor selection and contract negotiations.
* Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.

Process Engineering
* A thorough understanding of Topside Process Engineering in Oil and Gas is required.
* A working understanding of Process modelling would be advantageous.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:
* BSc Honours or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field.
* Significant proven experience as a Project Manager in the oil and gas industry.
* Strong understanding of oil and gas exploration and production processes.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* In-depth knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
* Proficient in project management tools and software.
* Process modelling experience/knowledge i.e. Hysis would be advantageous.

Additional Requirements:
* Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
* Membership of relevant professional institution.
* Offshore certifications (BOSIET, HUET, MIST etc.) required.
* Willingness to be part of the Emergency Response Management Team
