Job description
Assistant Tax Manager
The Orion Group manages the placement of thousands of contractors and permanent personnel every year via our worldwide network of offices throughout Europe, the Americas, the Middle East, Asia Pacific, and Africa. We are seeking a capable and motivated Assistant Tax Manager to join our team at our HQ in Inverness. In this role, you will work closely with the Tax Manager to ensure compliance with tax regulations, minimise tax liabilities, and optimise our tax strategies. You will have the opportunity to contribute to various tax projects, research complex tax issues, and provide valuable insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities are varied and will include but not be limited to collaborating with operations, speaking to tax advisors, and interpreting tax laws and regulations to prepare worker rate build ups. Other activities involve assisting with the preparation and review of tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, and other applicable tax filings, and conducting tax research and analysis to provide tax efficiency recommendations. The postholder is expected to stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.
Ideally, candidates will retain a tax qualification, have experience in tax compliance and/or tax advisory roles, and retain good analytical skills. It is important that you have excellent attention to detail and can effectively communicate and collaborate across teams while managing multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Orion offer flexible working arrangements and this role can be full or part-time. This position is ideal for somebody already working as an Assistant Tax Manager but would also offer an excellent progression opportunity for a Tax Senior. Training and career development will be provided.
Our role in supporting diversity and inclusion
As an international workforce business, we are committed to sourcing personnel that reflects the diversity and values of our client base but also that of Orion Group. In our inclusive workplace, regardless of your employment status as staff or contract, everyone is assured the right of equitable, fair and respectful treatment.
