Job Title: Commissioning Electrical Lead Offshore

We are looking for a Commissioning Electrical Lead to manage the electrical commissioning activities during the execution stage of an Expansion Project offshore. This role will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical commissioning tasks are executed safely, within scope, and according to the approved schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and lead electrical commissioning activities, ensuring all safety requirements are met, particularly during SIMOPS and co-activities.
  • Monitor contractor electrical commissioning activities, ensuring proper use of OPERCOM® methodology and the ICAPS© system database.
  • Lead electrical commissioning efforts offshore, ensuring that targets defined by project management are met.
  • Oversee vendor activities, including punch-list clearance and full Operational Test Procedures (OTP).
  • Regularly monitor and review ICAPS progress to ensure timely and accurate completion of commissioning tasks.
  • Provide guidance and timely reviews of contractor commissioning execution plans, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, industry codes, and standards.
  • Ensure coordination and communication with other disciplines (e.g., construction, hook-up, and completion teams) for site activities.
  • Review and propose mitigation strategies for commissioning aspects of the Risk Management Plan.
  • Manage commissioning changes, including reviewing justifications for cost and schedule impacts, in accordance with the MOC procedure.
  • Ensure the readiness of electrical system milestones such as MC walkdowns, RFC, RFSU, PSSR, etc.
  • Mentor trainees to develop their skills and experience, maintaining a register of lessons learned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Bachelor’s degree with experience in electrical commissioning for major capital projects.
  • Expertise in commissioning key electrical equipment such as UPS, HV and LV switchgear, power distribution systems, HVAC, navigation aids, ELICS/PMS, subsea cables, transformers, and electrical protection systems.
  • Familiarity with blackout procedures and first energization processes.
  • Proven experience with performance testing of facilities in line with contractual requirements.
  • Familiarity with ICAPS and OPERCOM methodology.
  • Strong knowledge of ATEX/IEC regulations.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, subcontractors, and vendors in the offshore oil and gas sector.
  • Proficient in stakeholder specifications and industry standards.
  • Experience with workpack preparation and job cards for offshore campaigns.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and the ability to interact effectively within a Project Management Team (PMT).
  • Strong supervisory skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and quality of documentation.
  • Ability to manage complex problems in offshore environments, ensuring resolution within time constraints.
  • Proficient in using office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and relevant technical applications.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Works within a dynamic offshore environment, managing interface coordination with multiple contractors and subcontractors.
  • Adheres to Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security (SHE) policies, creating a culture of best-in-class performance.
  • Flexible with offshore mobilization, ensuring all activities meet the highest standards of safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.
