Job description

We are currently supporting a leading engineering company with their search for a Supplier Contract Manager to join them on a permanent expatriate basis in Dubai.

Objectives
• The Supplier Contracts Manager owns the Supplier Contracts process from the moment the tender evaluation commences up and until the closure of the execution Contract Product, Services and Construction and engineering services
• Ensures and promotes compliance with company policies, standards, procedures, and contractual obligations.
• Closely works with Contracts and/or Legal function to help review and assesses the liabilities present in Customer Contracts, Subcontracts or Supplier Contracts to understand contractual risks and lead the supplier T& C negotiations.

Activities
• Establish supplier contracts to implement the chosen business strategy of the project effectively, maximizing contractual protection to the company through client/prime contract back-to-back flow downs.
• Assists on the drafting, revisions, negotiations and approval process of global and/or strategic supplier contracts for the assigned tender and/or packages.
• Collaborate with the Contracts & Legal Department, Finance Department (including Tax), HSE, Sourcing & Procurement, Operations (or any other department/function) as appropriate, to ensure contractual and commercial risks and exposures are clearly identified, analyzed and properly addressed
• Participate and contribute to all tender and execution PLG and CME gates where applicable
• Engage key stakeholders as required including Executive Company Sponsors.
• Proposes, drafts, revision, negotiations, approval process and implements agreement templates, terms and conditions, and contracts standards appendices, processes, practices, procedures and guidelines for the assigned tender and/or packages.
• Finalize contracts for signature once all the stakeholders and parties agree.
• Negotiates and closes contractual disputes for the assigned Global Category, being responsible for negotiation strategies, resolution and follow up in coordination with the Legal Department and the Supply Chain Management teams
• Review and discuss proposed draft contract with all relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with tax, HSE, and all other functions involved.
• Benchmark performance and audit suppliers with assistance from key stakeholders
• Provide contracts guidance and support to Sourcing Specialists.
• Ensures expert management of Global Category contacts in Ariba and produces reports and continue monitoring of contracts status in line with Global Category strategies i.e. contracts coverage, etc.
• Ensures and monitors compliance with all company policies, standards and procedures, and contractually assumed obligations.
• Contributes to the legal department's knowledge management program by capturing and sharing lessons learned from his/her legal matters and making useful legal content available on the Legal KM Portal.

Prior Experience/ Expertise Required
Experience:
• >5 years Contracts Management, or Project execution experience, with demonstrable knowledge of construction SOW
• Prior work experience in Production Facility / EPCC Projects
• Civil engineering background an advantage
