Job description

Job Title: Commissioning Controls & Instrument Lead Offshore

Location: Offshore, Qatar

We are seeking a dedicated Commissioning Controls & Instrument Lead (ICSS) to oversee and manage the commissioning activities for the Integrated and Control Safety System (ICSS) during the execution stage of a large Expansion Project, Offshore. Reporting to the Head of Commissioning Offshore, this role ensures safety, quality, and schedule adherence in a dynamic offshore environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead ICSS commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards during SIMOPS.
  • Monitor contractor activities, utilizing OPERCOM® methodology and ICAPS© systems.
  • Oversee system readiness milestones (MC walkdown, RFC, RFSU, PSSR, etc.) and ensure cybersecurity compliance.
  • Manage vendor activities, punch list clearances, and performance guarantee tests.
  • Provide expert guidance on commissioning execution plans, risk mitigation, and change management.
  • Support start-up and performance testing while mentoring team members.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree in Control Systems or equivalent.
  • Experience in commissioning for major capital projects.
  • Proficiency in Honeywell ICSS systems (Experion PKS DCS, Safety Manager SC controller, etc.) and field protocols like IEC62443.
  • Experience with offshore commissioning, SIMOPS, and managing EPC contractors.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Expertise in ICS cybersecurity, system completion databases (ICAPS), and OPERCOM methodology.
  • Knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, telecom, and mechanical equipment.
  • Problem-solving, initiative, and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
