Job Title: Commissioning Mechanical Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Mechanical Specialist to oversee mechanical commissioning activities for a large Expansion Project offshore. Reporting to the Head of Commissioning, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical systems are commissioned safely, on time, and in compliance with the approved project scope.

We are seeking a skilled Commissioning Mechanical Specialist to oversee mechanical commissioning activities for a large Expansion Project offshore. Reporting to the Head of Commissioning, you will be responsible for ensuring the mechanical systems are commissioned safely, on time, and in compliance with the approved project scope.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and execute mechanical commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with project schedules and safety requirements, especially during SIMOPS.
- Oversee the documentation and execution of test packs (e.g., leak tests with N2/He, HOF).
- Monitor and review pre-commissioning of critical safety valves, ensuring proper installation and performance testing.
- Ensure mechanical SECEs (e.g., lifeboats, cranes, safety valves) meet performance standards.
- Use OPERCOM® methodology and ICAPS© system to monitor and manage contractor activities.
- Oversee vendor activities during SAT, punch list closure, and OTP.
- Maximize onshore commissioning activities and minimize offshore mobilization when possible.
- Ensure availability of required spare parts and special tools for commissioning activities.
- Coordinate with other teams (construction, hook-up, quality, safety, engineering, etc.) to ensure smooth execution of commissioning tasks.
- Review and approve commissioning documents and test procedures prepared by contractors.
- Monitor commissioning changes and propose mitigation strategies as needed.
- Mentor trainees and maintain a register of lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in commissioning large capital projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment (e.g., high-pressure pumps, hydraulic actuators, PSV, cranes, lifeboats).
- Experience with high-pressure testing and troubleshooting vibration issues.
- Hands-on experience with critical mechanical equipment commissioning such as cranes, monorails, and lifeboats.
- Proficiency in system completion databases like ICAPS and OPERCOM methodology.
- Familiar with international standards and performance standards for mechanical systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, with experience managing EPC contractors and vendors.
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including wellhead control panels and performance standard equipment.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Strong problem-solving, supervisory, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work offshore as required.
- Ensure all activities comply with Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality standards.
