We have a current opportunity for a Marine Coordinator on a contract basis. The position will be based in Doha. For further information about this position please apply.


Work hours per day: 12 hrs./day
Work Days per Week:7 days/week
Work day per Month: 28 days/month
Work Location: Qatar, Offshore – 70% / Qatar, Onshore – 30%


Minimum Requirements

• Master Mariner, Chief Engineer or equivalent discipline.
• The Project Marine Coordinator shall be experienced in handling/ managing offshore marine units operating in the oil and gas industry.
• 15+ years of marine and offshore installation experience – primarily Offshore with onshore Operational/ Management experience.
• Broad and extensive knowledge of critical marine operations including Offshore Construction and JUB/ Rigs move activities.
• Knowledge of Dynamic Positioning Systems & Operations, DP FMEA Analysis, DP FMEA Proving Trials, Annual DP Trials, ASOG/CAM.
• Experienced in managing Marine Assurance & Compliance processes, following corporate requirements and international standards.
• Knowledgeable in International Maritime Regulations, Codes and Standards.
• Experience within the Middle East region .
• Previous Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) and Marine Consultancy experience is advantageous (Preferably OVID accreditation).

Key Job Accountabilities

• Project Marine Coordinator who will also function as a focal point throughout the Marine Execution phase of the Project.
• Maintain a robust and effective Marine Assurance and compliance process for the Offshore Spread operating within your defined project group.
• Support the Marine Assurance processes integration and standardization in collaboration with the MPMCF and OPCO Marine.
• Guide and support projects teams with extensive knowledge of protocols and best practices in the Maritime Industry.
• Review and analyze technical marine operational challenges, develop, recommend, and implement effective solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Marine SME for PMT Vessel/ Marine Unit selection, including Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE) and inspections/assurance processes.
• Ensure that the Vessel Suitability Survey is carried out diligently by the 3rd Party Marine Inspector on time,
• Conduct periodic competency assessment of the senior officers and provide feedback to OPCO Marine in accordance with the MOP.
• Ensure that all Marine Units have valid OVID inspection reports and findings are addressed effectively by the Owners.
• The Project Marine Coordinator manages the stewardship of the Marine Operation Safety Induction (MOSI) for all Project Personnel, Crew and Passengers prior to departing port/ Offshore

Operational Stewardship (Execution Phase)
• Monitor Marine Unit Acceptance (MUA) Certificate validity and ensure that the inspections regime followed as per Marine Operations Procedure. Manage and update the MUA Dossier for ongoing renewals.
• Ensure that the Marine Guidelines (Project Marine Unit) and Marine Operations Procedures are reviewed and fully understood by all Officers.
Focal point for the marine unit Defect & Breakdown Management process
• Issue Marine Violation Note and notify OPCO Marine and MPCMF for any MOP violations onboard and inconsistent performance of the marine unit.
Support and participate in Vessel Accident/ Incident Investigations related to Marine Units and maintaining marine compliance
• Provide regular input to the Marine Incidents Review process, capturing critical knowledge and lesson learned from marine events experienced on the project while participating and sharing this information at the Bi-Monthly Accident/ Incident review meeting.

Vessel Release (De-Mobilization Phase)
• Focal point through the Marine Unit demobilization/transfer process and initiate the Marine Unit Acceptance (MUA) close out.
• Conduct performance review of each marine unit upon completion of the charter and provide report to Company and share the feedback with OPCO Marine and MPCMF.
