Onboarding Specialist
$27/HR
Mettawa, IL - Hybrid Required
Contract through end of 2025



Orion Group is hiring for an Onboarding Specialist position to work with the US Patient Services team for our Pharmaceutical client in North Chicago.
The US Patient Services Team is an industry-leading organization providing unparalleled patient support, resulting in improved brand loyalty and patient satisfaction.
The Operations Support Specialist reports to the Director or Associate Director of APS Operations to perform operational support capabilities and manage projects to support  Patient Services.

Onboarding Specialist Major Responsibilities:
• Coordination and management with employees and vendors to ensure smooth process for onboarding and offboarding
• Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency
• Monitor and take action on tickets in a self-grown issues management tool while identifying trends and support issue resolution
• Project management support
• Build and run routine reports in Excel and build PowerPoint presentations
• Support other projects and tasks identified by the APS Operations team

Onboarding Specialist Qualifications:

• Attention to detail
• Good communication skills
• Ability to multi-task different priorities and responsibilities
• Ability to work within multiple systems effectively and concurrently
• Ability to manage their time efficiently and effectively
• Experience working in Microsoft products (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
 
Elizabeth Levine director of patient services operations team.
Primary function is to really help manage a lot of the day to day and tactical support with onboarding and offboarding processes. All of employees coming and going as well as the 3rd party contractors.
Partner with another contractor, and supporting everything that goes along with onboarding.
Centralized system that is used. Proficient with learning systems, time management, attn to detail. Does the person have right systems, right equipment… etc.
 
A lot of coordination with the team.
May be asked to monitor and take action on items that are in escalation tool, which is a centralized system in patient services.
If people are having issues they can route the issue in the escalation tool to a particular party.
Project management support, build and create excel reports or PP.
Adhoc projects as they arise.
 
What makes someone successful:
Leaning on resources, ask questions to understand the role.
Take a lot of initiative to go above and beyond.
 
If it is AbbVie employee they onboard they work closely with manager
If it is a contractor, they will work with the program administrator.
 
 
Red flags:
Communication gap, and thought it was a temp to hire. Had to offboard that contractor.
