Position Title: IDS Project Manager

Position Purpose:

The IDS Project Manager is responsible for managing major and complex IT projects and programs, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgets, and maintaining high standards throughout the project lifecycle. This role involves collaborating across IDS Delivery and Business teams to secure resources and coordinate efforts, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines. The IDS Project Manager oversees the project from inception through closure, managing project objectives and ensuring quality control. Additionally, this position requires working at executive levels to drive process improvement and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of project management practices within the PMO function.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 1pm - 5pm GMT (20 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the planning, design, execution, testing, implementation, and closure of multiple major and complex projects and programs.
  • Provide regular project status updates to the CIO and Steering Committees.
  • Define project/program governance in alignment with PMO standards.
  • Ensure quality assurance and integrity of all projects and programs.
  • Allocate resources and ensure appropriate skills within the project/program.
  • Identify and engage project stakeholders.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Manage the process of gathering and reviewing requirements with stakeholders.
  • Communicate project expectations and progress to stakeholders, team members, and sponsors in a timely manner.
  • Oversee project costs and budget management through critical analysis.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Monitor progress, track project milestones, and control the workflow.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring effective control measures are in place.
  • Address issues impacting project schedule, budget, and resources.
  • Define the frequency and content of status reports, analyze results, and address problem areas.
  • Define and communicate project success criteria throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct lessons learned and develop recommendation reports to highlight successful and unsuccessful project elements.
  • Contribute to the development and application of improved methods, processes, and controls.

Position Requirements:

  • 5+ years of direct experience in project management, including process development and execution.
  • Strong familiarity with project management methodologies such as PMI, Prince2, APM, and Agile.
  • Proven experience in Agile project management with successful delivery of Agile-based projects.
  • Experience working within an Enterprise PMO structure.
  • Ability to use systematic thinking to develop solutions that address broader organizational challenges.
  • Good understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle is desirable.
  • IT domain knowledge, such as SAP or IT Operations, is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in using platforms such as MS Office and SharePoint.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex projects/programs on time and within scope.
  • Strong skills in scope definition, management, and delivery.
  • Experience in managing large, globally distributed teams.
  • Proven experience working with senior/executive management in large organizations.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Expertise in managing risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (R.A.I.D) across projects and programs.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Adaptability and resilience, particularly in fast-paced, change-driven environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Excellent team player with strong collaboration skills.
  • Strong relationship management abilities.
