What you will do?

  • Develop a knowledge and understanding of products/systems/services, customers, and customer needs of business area supported.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, determine manpower and cost estimates, and develop engineering criteria for capital projects.
  • Oversee capital equipment improvement projects from proposal through implementation.
  • Perform analyses to develop design options or recommendations for equipment, pumps, piping, and other process unit operations.
  • Participate in and support safety studies for processes and projects (MOC, PHA, etc).
  • Lead various cost savings projects/initiatives.
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues which arise during production operation.
  • Perform investigation studies, trial production runs, and provide recommendations.
  • Ensure that all design and project work comply with applicable legislation, accepted engineering codes and standards, and Company policies and standards.
  • Participate in and lead cross-functional teams to support safety and operational improvements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Degree or advanced degree in chemical or mechanical engineering and seven to ten years of experience in chemical production facilities.
  • Able to execute multiple projects simultaneously, with only moderate supervision.
  • Participates in the development of work assignments and demonstrates independence by completing assignments without detailed instructions.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and RCA methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Expands network of resources through participation in cross functional teams.
