We have an immediate need for a Reliability Engineer located in Freeport, TX. The Reliability Engineer applies mechanical engineering principles, theories, and concepts to improve the reliability of plant assets and the plant OEE. What will you do?

  • Work with equipment including rotating equipment, pressure vessels, piping, and compressors
  • Troubleshoot equipment for mechanical issues affecting reliability and work with crafts to implement improvements.
  • Conduct equipment performance evaluations
  • Develop and track key KPI's for the maintenance department to assess manufacturing performance and identify opportunities for process improvements
  • Evaluate maintenance plans (PM's) and procedures for all critical equipment inspection tasks to identify gaps.
  • Create maintenance procedures where needed, otherwise update existing systems
  • Champions the mechanical integrity program
  • Perform engineering design work
  • Apply engineering theory, practices, and principles to lead equipment root cause failure analysis
  • Review mechanical designs for plant and capital projects to ensure accuracy of design and to become familiar with the new assets.
  • Provide input to plant outage plans & support execution of plant outages
  • Work within the management of change process
  • Develop cost estimates and follow construction of projects
  • Maintain open and effective communications with operations, maintenance, material control, and other work groups

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • 5+ years of reliability engineering experience
  • Immigration Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of ASME, API and ABSA pressure vessel codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of tap root, 5-why, MTBF analysis
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
  • Strong problem analysis skills
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance
  • Experience with rotating equipment
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to build a strong relationship with crafts
  • Enjoys working in cross-functional teams
