Job description
We have a current opportunity for a Senior Corrosion Engineer on a contract basis. The position will be based in Doha. For further information about this position please apply.
Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering.
• NACE CP Certification.
• 6 years' experience in corrosion control and mitigation within the oil/gas production industry.
• Experienced in chemical inhibition, corrosion monitoring,material selection, degradation mechanisms, and failure analysis
for sour service and utilities facilities, protective coatings, corrosion monitoring, chemical inhibition and cathodic protection.
• Experience in corrosion systems and in plant facilities with sour feed gas and plant exposure to a marine climate, including
Utilities.
• Working knowledge of national and local codes, International Codes and Standards, statutory regulations, NDT and inspection techniques.
Key Job Accountabilities
Provide corrosion engineering expertise during EPC and Startup phase until handover to permanent asset whilst ensuring project deliverables meet operations expectations in term of safety, operability, reliability, and maintainability over the facility design life cycle.
The role requires planning corrosion control and monitoring programs, interpreting survey results, and recommending corrosion mitigation measures.
Review material selection, design and operational requirements of new projects including the design, installation and commissioning requirements and ensure compliance with company's requirements. Establish monitoring criteria for all the Corrosion Programs like Cathodic Protection, protective Coating & lining, Chemical Inhibition, Corrosion Monitoring Systems and submits recommendations to supervisor.
Maintain Issue Register identifying and resolving critical issues including lessons learned and new technology risks (under area of responsibility) which could impact new project reliability, availability and cyber security.
Develop painting/coating requirements for pipelines, structures, equipment and tanks and give recommendations to supervisor on selection of systems and procedures for proper quality control. Inspect paint condition and works with inspectors to conduct quality control checks for painting jobs.
Ensure quality implementations of project painting/coating requirements for pipelines, structures, equipment and tanks, and give recommendations about selection of systems and procedures for proper quality control. Verify and ensure paint quality inspection performed by inspectors.
Develop, implement, and steward Corrosion Engineering Programs for company facilities including offshore platforms, pipelines, onshore process facilities, condensate refinery, storage facilities, export and loading facilities and ensure that company utilizes cost effective corrosion control and monitoring equipment.
Review and analyse corrosion engineering reports, test results, failure investigations etc. and provide recommendations on corrective measures or actions to restore equipment functionality, improve equipment performance, or to extend its operating life.
