About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Data Scientist to drive the development and execution of advanced data science strategies and solutions for our client, a major Oil and Gas company. This role will be pivotal in promoting data-driven decision-making and delivering high-impact analytics across various business domains.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- Education: Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- Prior experience in data science with a proven track record in machine learning, advanced analytics, and data-driven decision-making.
- Industry experience in oil and gas is preferred, with familiarity in handling data types such as seismic and production data.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI technologies, including large language models.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Python (essential); Spark experience is a plus.
- Strong command of SQL, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure) and visualization tools like Power BI.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Databricks.
- Key Skills:
- Strong statistical analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Leadership experience in mentoring and project management.
- Strategic Contribution:
- Develop and execute data science strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Propose and implement tactical solutions to transform the organization into a data-driven company.
- Promote data science and analytics to enhance business insights and decision-making processes.
- Technical Development:
- Lead the creation of innovative Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and end-to-end data analytics solutions.
- Maximize the value of diverse data sources, including geosciences, operations, HSE, and more.
- Develop algorithms and data-driven analytical solutions for in-house use case building and enhancement.
- Collaboration & Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors for data science projects.
- Support vendor selection processes and oversee the execution of vendor-led analytics scopes.
- Project Lifecycle Management:
- Conduct complex quantitative analysis and modeling to address business challenges.
- Ensure end-to-end implementation of analytics models and supervise data science pilots and MVPs.
- Support deployment, user adoption, and scaling of analytics solutions.
- Communication & Training:
- Translate sophisticated data science concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative, growth focused team environment
