Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Senior Project Planning Engineer, based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
* Manages overall or part Project Delivery of design activities in front end and detailed design, equipment purchase, contractor selection and performance aspects for Project - can be Manager for a single mid-sized activity, or a portfolio of activities.
* Delivers parts of larger scope with clearly defined boundaries.
* Signals shortcomings and inconsistencies in policies and procedures and makes suggestions for improvements.
* Implements at site / in project new strategy, policy and procedures on clearly defined topics, in line with the company overall strategy and policies.
* Some exposure to / interaction with business leadership.
* The job holder manages the engagement with a variety of external stakeholders on an operational level, managing competing priorities.
* This stakeholder engagement includes participating in and leveraging relevant networks. Coordinates activities performed by subcontractors and suppliers.
* The Lead Planner will support both MarramWind and CampionWind Joint Ventures and is expected to provide high quality schedule data for decision making and scenario analysis, integrating inputs from the various project workstreams, and ensuring consistency with the Project Execution and Contracting & Procurement Strategies.
* The Lead Planner also develops controls and processes associated with monitoring physical project progress and forecasting delivery dates
* Provides planning and scheduling capability for the project team.
* Creates and maintains an appropriate hierarchy of Roadmaps and Primavera project plans.
* Able to perform critical path analysis and identify key levers to drive improvement opportunities.
* Identifies interactions and constraints between key project decision points and activities.
* Creates and maintains the overall project baseline plan.
* Ensures appropriate processes are in place to monitor, control, report and forecast schedule and variances Develops and controls the project baseline plan, implementing Management of Change where applicable. Interfaces with relevant project workstreams to support probabilistic schedule modelling Provides project leadership with schedule benchmarking data, lessons learned and incorporates best practices from both Shareholder organisations where feasible.
* Supports project leadership by compiling ad hoc reports and analysis as required Supports project assurance activities ahead of major decision points (eg concept selection, CfD, FID) Produces reports in line with the project and company reporting calendar; Provides team leadership to the Planning team
Experience & Qualifications:
* Require an associate's degree or its equivalent with relevant experience in the field or in a related area. Has good organisational, cross-functional and inter-disciplinary awareness.
* A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
* Projects have a moderate impact on assigned business area.
* Some exposure to / interaction with business leadership.
